Risen Christ Lutheran Church is a 6,660 square
foot new facility designed for a young, rapidly growing congregation.
Built in 1991 as a first phase, the project includes offices,
classrooms, kitchen and an assembly room to serve as both sanctuary
and social hall. Accommodations have been provided for future
expansions, which are to include a permanent sanctuary and additional
classrooms. The one-story structure has a brick facade and
a wrap-around porch to reflect the rural, residential character
of the surrounding neighborhood. The entry tower was rotated
so that one enters the building with an obstructed view of the
communion table in the assembly room. Construction was performed
by a group of retired Lutherans from around the country who lived
on the site in campers until completion.
