Steve Sharp of McCall Sharp Architecture was retained by the Clark County Historical Society to design this $9 million museum. While the Clark County Historical Society is not a unit of County government, the building is owned by the County Commissioners and leased back to the Society. Located with Springfield’s unique 1890 Marketplace/City Hall, over 60,000 square feet is available for exhibition, genealogical, and administrative functions of the Museum as well as a Victorian Marketplace of shops and offices for Clark County Veteran’s Commission. Mr. Sharp worked with Clark County to provide the following services for this prominent building in downtown Springfield:
- ADA Assessment
- Structural Evaluation
- Design of prominent Museum and Public Spaces
- Roof Repair
- Emergency Generator and Fire System Design
- Design of Lobby Space including Registration Desk
- Exposition Hall-New addition to the Heritage Center and Exibition Design Services
