The Davidson
Interpretive Center

Springfield, Ohio

The Clark County Park District retained McCall Sharp Architecture to design the $500,000 Interpretive Center for the commemoration of the 1780 Battle of Peckuwe between George Rogers Clark and his Kentucky Militia against the Shawnee and the British. The 3,500 square foot timber structure is designed to imitate the deep forest canopy that dominated the terrain. The interior is devoted to exhibition space overlooking the battle site. The building also houses a gift shop and administrative offices. The building is also designed to be a comfort station along the proposed bike way.
