Stephen L. Sharp was involved from design through construction of the 85,983 square foot $12,500,000 Performing Arts Center. The facility, located on an urban Springfield site, sits on 5.5 acres. Kuss Auditorium, seating 1,502, has a 5,368 square foot stage with orchestra pit, variable acoustics and theatrical lighting and sound controls. Turner Studio Theatre, with 250 loose seats provide a black box theatre and control booth. Back stage is the green room, multiple dressing rooms and stage storage. The Salerno Educational Wing has a conference room, 4 classrooms, a design studio and 3 large community rooms.
Clark State’s Center was designed by NBBJ, Columbus, Ohio. Stephen L. Sharp served as the local architect. Completed in November, 1993 it serves the community of Springfield by providing a home for the cultural arts in the area.
